Shabdanjali the Hindi Dictionary

Published by Gaurav Mishra at 10:47 pm under hindi

I saw the Shabadanjali Dictionary while working with Shashi Palekar ji on her Paper on MultiLigual Dictionaries. But it was ISCII based and requires a plugin to display the characters which is never a good idea. Unicode rocks and should be a standard application.

While surfing i found shabdkosh.com and the Unicode version of shabdanjali for windows, which can be easily implemented with Linux.

For Installing the dictionary just Use

#sudo apt-get install stardict

and extract the files in /usr/share/stardict/dic.

Download Shabdanjali

    Hi Rocky,
I just repackage the product for fedora/rhel. If you need to request a new feature, you need to request it on stardict-devel mailing list. I’m sure, the’ll be happy to hear from you :)
