Dehradun to Delhi — 2 People , One bike , Lots of fun!!

Published by Gaurav Mishra at 11:07 am under biking, life

From my college days itself i just love getting myself to limit, As people know i am not a very efficient rider , but still loves biking. Saumya decided to take a huge risk with her life and we decided to ride from Dehradun valley to Delhi Metro. On the top of that we were having a 7 years old bike which was not even ready to take this ride, this all added up to a lot of uncertainties exactly the way i loved.

After a lot yes , no we gave our all luggage to a Bus conductor hoping we get them on reaching delhi and Mr sanjeev (the conductor) helped and assured us , Nice guy

We started off at 1:30 Pm from Dehradun and first 80Km was cakewalk non-stop, Me as usual back to racing at full throttle and we covered the distance faster we expected, Our first stoppage was a dhaba for taking chips and Cold-drink( A short one of 5 minutes, I was in no mood stopping), Next 40 km was pretty slow in driving as we were discussing and driving(saumz was eating alongwith :P)

Our next stoppage was this really nice cool kid “Sachin” helmet shop were we stopped to get my helmet fixed. This kid knows so much about helmets at this age that jus by seeing my helmet he told me the exact price of helmet, Also he got decent selling skills, I am impressed.

Here is the pic of saumya and sachin

Saumya trying hard to get me look good on pics :P

After stretching ourselves we started again and now at a better speed :), Saumya was brave enough to only beat me from behind to go at such a rash speed :D

We took a shot stretch this time of covering only 30 km and feeling hard to sit. So stopped for having the lunch , Which happened to be the “Fauji ka dabha” along the way, a perfect dabha place with naan and kaali daal(the defacto standard food in dabhas), We had tea, food and nice handpipe fresh water.

We had covered 150 km by now and last 100 km was left, It was easy smooth road till now. So we were sailing smooth and i was patting myself, unaware of the meerut area jam :P

We took from there at nice speed and non-stop zoomed till meerut, Stopping at meerut highway for two reasons, one my legs and hands were stiffing and second i was looking to take more pics. Since i was mostly behind cameras for my most of life, here again i am not in pictures :P

Our hamsfar old splendor (did i told somebody i finally got my own **Second hand** Bike)

From here the sawaari zoomed towards Meerut highway, We were getting late due to our breaks and we zoomed at nice peed from there , I was tired enough so was not going above 80.

But if you are with saumya and you are not stopping at a nice food joint , It`s a CRIME. So we stopped again at Nathu`s and had various stuff including Rasmalai, raj kachori, Shake etc. Now Gaurav needed to ride again with fully stuffed.

After eating i suddenly realized we are very short of time and thus zoomed at final speed only to find nice stuffed roads from modinagar :P, Saumya till now so tired that she barely can sit asked me never to try this adventure again :P

Finally reaching at mohannagar we called up our conductor sanjay to find he is in delhi , Agh now we have to go all along delhi. Again making faces i joined stuffed road to delh to ISBT. I nearly thought we lost our bag , But there are still good people in the world and we finally got our bag.

From there we moved again to one more food joint Macdonalds and finally home, I slept like a child after this wonderful journey , Guys if you need happiness get out of couch and get tired after work :)

Bike rides are soo much fun! I had this amazing experience with my friends from RH - we went to lonavala and stuff on bikes.

When we came back, our backs were badly broken and our bums were soo numb… but we enjoyed it to the hilt!

    :)
